Neato Employment Services Head Office
Winner of the 2005 Master Builder's Association Regional Project of the year and State Award for Best Building under $2-million, Neato Employment Services Head Office accommodates high quality office space, vocational training and storage facilities for an owner/occupier client.
The site our client chose already had an existing building upon it. This presented quite a challenge. The building was a shocker - an industrial shed with a domestically detailed brick office at the front. We worked up the requirements for the new building, which dictated its size, then we devised an aesthetic which could be applied to both the new and existing buildings that would result in a coherent whole. The existing building remains intact under a modern mask of corrugated zincalume.
The new building grows out of a corrugated base. It took a lot of tweaking but the result is entirely credible. The client enjoys this building. So do we. The Master Builder's Association reward our efforts with two gongs.
