Architectural facilities and computer aided design
Technology allows the architecture practice to provide realistic images to distant clients, and the seamless transfer of documents to specialist secondary consultants from major cities.
ArchiCAD for architectural drawings
We have installed Archicad 10 for our Computer Aided Design and Documentation. This provides a powerful tool for analysing building solutions in three dimensions allowing the trial of various alternatives quickly and efficiently. The transition to working drawings for the construction of projects follows seamlessly from the 3D design drawings.
The files produced are compatible with other CAD packages allowing consultation and the import/export of data with other disciplines on the project design and documentation.
CAD capabilities in architecture
CAD allows the following possibilities:
- Realistic Photographic Renderings of buildings
- Virtual reality representations
- Fly through building designs
- 3D Visualisation of plans
- 3D Presentation of building designs
- Computer Modelling
- Massing Studies
- Site Analysis
- Sun and shadow diagrams
The Airlie Beach architectural practice is equipped with the usual digital cameras, scanner, large format printers, large format photocopier, ADSL broad-band internet connection.
