Tommy Webster Memorial Hall
A community hall to seat 210 people plus a workable stage (4 metres deep), foyer, change rooms, meeting rooms, kitchen, stores etc with disability access to all areas.
The building was situated at the windward end of a rectangular block so most of one end wall could be opened up relating the building to an equivalent outdoor area, thus doubling its effective size. The sprung floors suit both dance and sports, the Porte-cochère fits the community bus and the building shape is festive and approachable for the neighbouring children.
Tommy Webster was a quiet unassuming bachelor who left a substantial amount of money to the community. We painted his name in an unassuming way on the corrugated colorbond Porte-cochère.
